Can you find Mew in Pokemon X & Y?

According to this Twitter user (and as shown in the above image), Mew is present in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y. To be clear, he’s been using a hack to access hidden data, so you’re not necessarily going to find Mew floating about in the wild, but maybe it’ll become available during some future event?

Just have to wait and see, I suppose.

The model is in the game because when Pokemon Bank comes out everyone will want all their old pokemon on X and Y. What would happen if there wasn’t a model for Mew?

But the Mew is seen as an enemy, and not a player Pokèmon, meaning there might be an item that will be distributed and then can be used to find Mew.

Don’t you know how hacking in pokemon tends to work? The way it’s worked in the past has been taking the pokedex number and just plugging it into a code. This makes it so whatever pokemon you choose is instantly encountered in the wild. All this means is that someone plugged in the value for mew and started a battle with it.

This screenshot is from a guy using a hacked 3DS, he’s able to encounter any Pokemon he wants in the wild with that. I’m with the people that say it doesn’t mean anything since the data for every Pokemon can be found in any game. Maybe he’ll be available in some way, maybe he won’t, we’ll find out later.

no, it is the data for the pokemon. You can battle any pokemon in Diamond and Pearl with an action replay, even pokemon only obtainable through breeding, in the wild. They could hack in a wild cyndiquil, that doesn’t mean that there is an event cyndiquil, that means that the data for the pokemon is in the game.

Of course All pokemon will have their model as an enemy.. Because when pokemon bank comes out and everyone already transfer their old pokemon to x and y, we’ll definitely see a bunch of players online using Mew in online battles.. But still there’s still a possibility that Mew will be in some sort of future event , ’cause as far as i remember Mew is unobtainable on both BNW and BNW2..

He’s hacking the Pokemon in so they appear in the wild, just like a Gameshark. This doesn’t mean it’s available, it just means the model is present and there’s no reason why it wouldn’t be.

Use the Flute on one of the Skiddo in Lumiose City. It’ll get scared and run. Go to the Baa de Mer ranch and you’ll find it there. It will run again. Then, go to Geosenge and use Strength on the remains of the HQ entrance. They’ll fall open. The Skiddo will charge on in, headfirst, flying down the chute. Go rescue it, and on your way out, you’ll encounter a Level 0 Mew. You have to use a Rare Candy on it to level it up to Level 1, then you can fight with it.

You are able to get a legit Mew in X and Y right now if you got it from an event on an earlier game (from Ruby/Saphire and up) and trade it. So it is programmed into the game but does not necessarily become available through an event.

    • Jordh November 4, 2013, 9:45 pm

Nope. You can’t transfer Pokémon from your olders games yet, you need Pokémon bank for it and that software isn’t out yet.

      • kieron November 7, 2013, 4:15 am

he means you can transfer from ruby and sapphire to pearl and diamond then transfer from pearl and diamond to black/white/white2/black2 and then to X and Y

This means absolutely nothing. The code for every single Pokemon ever is in the games.
Mew is just one of the 100+ old Pokemon that are unobtainable in X/Y before Pokemon Bank becomes available.

Except it´s a Code like the 3 other legends..otherwise they would have coded all the starters and all legends..no..they found a HIDDEN Code..

  • wow November 4, 2013, 8:31 am

You mean via hacking someone managed to force the game to encounter a Pokemon and they didn’t actually leave out data for any of the pokemon? who’da thought.

  • X66x66 November 4, 2013, 8:35 am

technically, EVERY pokemon is present in the game data…

  • Vince McMahon November 4, 2013, 9:16 am

Well of course it’s present, it’s a pokemon that you can use in the game. This doesn’t indicate anything.

  • Stefan November 5, 2013, 4:08 am

    Yeah no.

He also made Arceus appear in the wild. It doesn’t really mean Mew is in the game, it just means its sprite is.

  • LoreBreaking November 7, 2013, 9:40 am

Ok anybody can tell me this??? is the rock really called mewtworite or mewrite?

if MEWTWORITE… THAT IS LORE BREAKING.. MEWTWO ISNT A REAL POKEMON!!! ITS A CLONE… if its mewrite…. continue as you were..

  • ethan December 30, 2013, 12:12 am

I found a mew in the grass

  • The Ultimate Umbreon January 16, 2014, 3:23 am

look yall, Mew is catchable in the game. Does anyone remember that NOBOBY knew Mew ever existed in the first games until SOME KID did something and he found Mew? If you’re following me on this, then good job. Anyways, it’s basically the same for Mew. The only way to find it is if you do some sort of secret event in-game or glitch the game in order to reveal Mew’s hidden data. It’s easier than hacking, I suppose.

    • onaicilef February 11, 2014, 11:19 pm

And how exactly can you glitch the game?
